Edit a user-defined data type

A user-defined data type groups different types of data, called members into a single structure. Edit a user-defined data type to define new members or update the name, description, and data types for existing members.
  1. In the
    Library Explorer
    , expand the
    Data Types
    folder and select a user-defined data type.
  2. In the grid, to edit the member, change:
    • Name
      . The name of the member.
    • Description
      . The description of the member
    • Type
      . The data type of the member.
  3. To edit the properties of the user-defined data type, click the properties icon and update:
    • Description
      . Enter a description of the data type
    • Vendor
      . Enter a name for the vendor.
    • Data size
      . The size of user-defined data type. Data size is read-only.
    • Version Number
      . Use to track changes made to a data type by version number.
    • Version Note
      . Enter a description to help identify changes made for the version.
  4. To add a new member to the user-defined data type, enter the name of the new members in the
    Add Member
    row.
