Parameters
Channel
Select one of the channel buttons to display its information on this tab.
Process Alarms
- High High AlarmSet the level of input to a channel that will cause the module to set the High High alarm. The alarm will remain until the input returns below this level, unless it is within the deadband, or as long as the alarm is latched.
- High AlarmSet the level of input to a channel that will cause the module to trigger the High alarm. The alarm will remain until the input returns below this level, unless it is within the deadband, or as long as the alarm is latched.
- Low AlarmSet the level of input on a channel that will cause the module to enable the low alarm. The alarm will remain until the input returns above this level, unless it is within the deadband, or as long as the alarm is latched.
- Low Low AlarmSet the level of input to a channel that will cause the module to indicate a low low alarm. The alarm remains until input returns above this level, unless it is within the deadband, or as long as the alarm is latched.
Disable All Alarms
Select this box to disable all alarms for a channel.
Latch Process Alarms
Select this box to maintain an alarm triggered condition for any of the process alarms (see above) even after the condition ceases. The alarm will only unlatch with an explicit message acknowledging the alarm.
Latch Rate Alarm
When you enable this alarm, a Rate Alarm indication will remain set even when the alarm condition goes away. This latch allows you to maintain the alarm even after the condition ceases. The alarm will only unlatch with an explicit message acknowledging the alarm.
Deadband
Enter a value where an alarm, once set, will not disable as long as the input value remains within the deadband range of the alarm trigger point. (This value in combination with the process alarms creates the range.)
Rate Alarms
Enter an alarm value to trigger when the rate of change between input samples exceeds the setpoint. You must set this alarm in terms of Engineering Units/Second, unless linearizing a temperature (that is, you have configured a sensor type for an RTD or Thermocouple channel), in which case the alarm is set in terms of Degrees/Second. Degrees may be either Celsius or Fahrenheit, based upon the module configuration.
Unlatch
Select this button to unlatch the adjacent alarm condition. Select
Unlatch All
to unlatch all alarms for the channel.Slider Bar
Use this bar to visualize where the process alarm trigger parts are set for your process. You can also drag the process alarm flags to adjust the trigger points.
TIP:
To change the trigger points by whole numbers only, hold down the shift key while dragging the marker on the slider bar.
