Module Properties Dialog Box - Alarm Tab Overview

Use this tab to configure alarms on the 1794-IF8IHNF module. On this tab, you can perform the following:
  • Select the channel you want to configure
  • Enable all alarms
  • Configure process alarms
Parameters
Channel
Click a channel to configure the parameters for the corresponding channel.
Enable Alarms
Select the check box to enable all alarms on the channel. Clear the check box to disable the alarms on the channel.
The alarm parameters appear dimmed when the Enable Alarms check box is cleared.
Process Alarms
You may disable the alarm by setting the alarm value to 0.
High High
Set the level of input to a channel that will cause the module to set the High High alarm. The alarm remains active until the input returns below this level.
High
Set the level of input to a channel that causes the module to set the High alarm. The alarm remains active until the input returns below this level.
Low
Set the level of input to a channel that causes the module to set the Low alarm. The alarm remains active until the input returns below this level.
Low Low
Set the level of input to a channel that causes the module to set the Low Low alarm. The alarm remains active until the input returns below this level.
Note the following:
  • High High alarms must be greater than or equal to High Alarm.
  • High alarm must be greater than or equal to Low Alarm
  • Low Alarm must be greater than or equal to Low Low Alarm.
Slider Bar
Use this bar to visualize where the process alarm trigger parts are set for your process. You can also drag the process alarm flags to adjust the trigger points.
Click this button to accept your edits and close the dialog box.
Cancel
Click this button to close the dialog box without accepting your edits.
Apply
Click this button to accept/apply your edits. If the following conditions exists when you click Apply or OK,
  • you are online in Program, Remote Program or Remote Run mode and,
  • this controller is the owner controller and,
    controller
    A device that controls machines or processes elements (for example, a programmable controller or relay panel).
  • you have changed the module’s configuration in the software,
the information is automatically sent to the controller. The controller tries to send the information to the module (if the connection to the module is not inhibited). If you don’t click Apply or OK, your changes are not sent to the controller.
