Create and Configure I/O
In the
Logix Designer
application add all the I/O and Communication modules that are part of the project. This allows the controller to communicate with the modules. When you configure an I/O module, you specify characteristics specific to that module. The
Logix Designer
application automatically adds the predefined tags for the module as controller-scoped tags. The configuration information for the module depends on the module you select.
You can specify electronic keying to restrict a connection to a specific module type. Electronic keying ensures that a module being inserted or configured is the proper type.
Repeat this process for all of the modules your project works with.
