Motor Model page
How do I open the Motor Model page?
- In theController Organizer, expand theMotion Groupsfolder, and double-click an axis.
- From theAxis Propertiesdialog box, inCategories, selectMotor.
- SelectModel.
Use the
Motor Model
page to configure settings for the specific model of the motor.
NOTE:
- The parameters available on the page depend on theMotor Typeselection on theMotorpage.
- The motor and the motor type determine the default values.
- The controls are available when theData Sourceon theMotorpage is set toNameplate DatasheetandMotor Typeis not set toNot Specified.
TIP:

Rotary Permanent Magnet Motor Type
These are the parameters when
Motor Type
is set to Rotary Permanent Magnet
.Parameter | Description |
Torque Constant (Kt) | Enter the torque constant of a rotary permanent-magnet motor in N-m/Amps (RMS). |
Voltage Constant (Ke) | Enter the voltage, or back-EMF, constant of a rotary permanent-magnet motor Volts (RMS)/RPM. |
Resistance (Rs) | Enter the phase-to-phase, resistance of a permanent magnet motor in Ohms. |
Inductance (Ls) | Enter Stator Inductance for the motor (Henries). |
Flux Saturation | Enter the amount of flux saturation in the motor as a function of current. |
Rotary Interior Permanent Magnet (IPM) Motor Type
These are the parameters when
Motor Type
is set to Rotary Interior Permanent Magnet
.Parameter | Description |
Torque Constant (Kt) | Enter the torque constant of a rotary permanent-magnet motor in N-m/Amps (RMS). |
Voltage Constant (Ke) | Enter the voltage, or back-EMF, constant of a rotary permanent-magnet motor Volts (RMS)/RPM. |
Resistance (Rs) | Enter the phase-to-phase, resistance of a permanent magnet motor in Ohms. |
Inductance (Lq) | Enter the phase-to-neutral, q-axis, inductance of an interior permanent magnet motor (Henries). |
Inductance (Ld) | Enter the phase-to-neutral, d-axis, inductance of an interior permanent magnet motor (Henries). |
Flux Saturation (Lq) | Enter an array of 8 values that specify the amount of q-axis flux saturation in the motor as a function of current. |
Flux Saturation (Ld) | Enter the amount of d-axis flux saturation in the motor at rated current. |
Rotary/Linear Induction Motor Type
These are the parameters when
Motor Type
is set to Rotary and Linear Induction
.Parameter | Description |
Rated Flux Current | Enter the rated flux current for the motor in Amps (RMS). |
Rated Slip Speed | Enter the amount of slip (RPMs) at motored rated current (full load) and motor rated frequency. |
Stator Leakage (X1) | Enter the Stator Leakage for the motor in Ohms. |
Rotor Leakage (X2) | Enter the Rotor Leakage for the motor in Ohms. |
Magnetic Reactance (Xm) | Enter the Reactance for the motor in Ohms. |
Stator Resistance (R1) | Enter the Stator Resistance for the motor in Ohms. |
Rotor Resistance (R2) | Enter the Rotor Resistance for the motor in Ohms. |
Linear Permanent Magnet
These are the parameters when

is set to Linear Permanent Magnet
