Motor Analyzer page

Use the
Motor Analyzer
tool to identify the parameters for motors that have the
Data Source
on the
Motor
page set to
Nameplate Datasheet
.
TIP:
To open the Motor Analyzer page:
  1. In the Controller Organizer, expand the Motion Groups folder, and double-click an axis.
  2. From the Axis Properties dialog box, in Categories, expand the Motor folder, and then select
    Analyzer
    .
The
Motor Analyzer
tab provides three tests:
  • Dynamic Motor Test
  • Static Motor Test
  • Calculate Model
The tests analyze motor parameters for rotary and linear induction motors and permanent magnet motors. The parameters that appear on the tests depend on the motor type selected on the
Motor
page.
If the test executes successfully and you accept the test values, the values populate the
Model Parameters
attributes. The type of motor selected affects the specific test results returned.
All controls on the
Motor Analyzer
page are inactive if these conditions exist:
  • The project is offline.
  • The project is online, and the drive associated to the axis does not support Motor Test.
  • The project is online,
    Motor Test
    is
    Enabled
    , and
    Axis Configuration
    is set to
    Feedback Only
    .
  • The project is online,
    Motor Test
    is
    Enabled
    , the
    Axis Configuration
    is not set to
    Feedback Only
    and the
    Motor Type
    is set to
    Not Specified
    .
    TIP:
If the controller is taken offline while a Motor Analyzer is executing, the test results are cleared the next time the tab is online.
