Edit the logic for the definition of an Add-On Instruction

Open the logic for the definition of an Add-On Instruction to edit the local tags and logic of the Add-On Instruction. Changes made to the definition of an Add-On Instruction appear in every instance of the Add-On Instruction in the project.
  1. Open the logic for either:
    • Definition of an Add-On Instruction. On the explorer
      bar, select Library icon
      Library
      , expand the Add-On Instruction, and then select
      Logic
      .
    • Instance of an Add-On Instruction:
    1. On the explorer bar, select System Icon
      System
      .
    2. In
      System
      , expand the
      FactoryTalk Smart Object
       and then program and then double-click the routine.
  2. In the upper-right corner of the tab for the routine, select the drop-down and then select the definition of the Add-On Instruction at the top of the list.
  3. Edit the logic for the Add-On Instruction.
    TIP: An Add-On Instruction cannot contain logic that directly or indirectly references itself.
