Importing/Exporting Logic

When you choose to perform an export and import of rungs, any referenced tags, Add-On Instructions, User-defined Data Types, and project documentation are imported along with the rungs that reference them.
To import a rung into a ladder routine from a previously saved .L5X File:
  1. Position your cursor on the rung where you want to place the imported content.
If you are in Insert mode, the content is positioned above the rung with the caret; if you are in Append mode, it is positioned below the rung with the caret.
You may also select multiple rungs, if you wish to overwrite the selected rungs.
  2. From the right mouse menu, choose the
    Import Rungs
    option.
The Import Rungs dialog box appears.
  3. In the File name field, enter the name (and full path) of the .L5X file that contains the content you want to import.
Displays the name of the current tag. If desired, you can rename this tag.
You may need to navigate to the appropriate directory to find the file if you do not know its full name and path.
  4. If you wish to overwrite the selected rungs, click the Overwrite Selected Rungs check box.
  5. Click
    Import
    to import the content.
The Import Configuration dialog box appears.
  6. Make the appropriate configuration changes, according to how you would like the content to be imported into your current project.
  7. Click
    OK
    to import rungs.
If you are offline, the rungs are imported. If you are online, a dialog box displays in which you can choose how the rungs are to be imported.
  8. Select whether you want the rungs to be imported as Pending, Accepted, or Finalized Edits, then click
    OK
    .

  2. Click the right mouse button and choose the
    Export Rungs
    option.
