New program dialog box settings
Use the
New Program
dialog box to create a new program.Parameter | Description |
Name | Enter a name for the new program. |
Description | Enter a description of the program. |
Parent | To make this program a child of an existing program in the logical model, select the parent program. Otherwise select <none>. This field is disabled when Controller Fault Handler or Power-Up Handler is selected in the Schedule In field. |
Class | Indicates whether the program is a Standard program or a Safety program. This value applies to Safety applications only. |
Use as Folder | Select to create a program folder rather than a program. When the check box is selected, the Schedule In , Inhibit Program , and Synchronize Redundancy Data after Execution parameters are disabled. If a value is selected for the Schedule In parameter it is reset to <none>.
TIP:
The
Synchronize Redundancy Data after Execution option only applies to standard controllers; it does not apply to Safety controllers.If Controller Fault Handler or Power-Up Handler is selected in the Schedule In field, the Use as Folder check box is disabled. |
Schedule In | Choose the task in which you want the program to be scheduled. |
Inhibit Program | Select to prevent the program and its routines from executing. |
Synchronize Redundancy Data after Execution | Choose to synchronize redundancy data after execution (check box is selected) or not to synchronize redundancy data after execution (check box is cleared). The check box is selected by default.

The
Synchronize Redundancy Data after Execution option only applies to standard controllers; it does not apply to Safety controllers.Check box is not shown for non-Redundancy catalog numbers. Check box is always selected for controllers with Redundancy enabled. Check box is disabled when Redundancy is not enabled. |
OK | Click to accept the information entered and create the new program. If online, the program is created in the controller. |
Cancel | Click to cancel the creation of this program. |
