Store an Add-On Instruction

Store a group of Add-On Instructions together in two ways:
  • Save Add-On Instructions in a project file.
  • Create an .L5X export file.
To store an Add-On Instructions
  1. Identify the instructions to save.
  2. Place the instructions in a project file with an easily identified name (for example, MyInstructions.ACD).
  3. Open other projects in additional instances of the
    Logix Designer
    application.
  4. Copy and paste a copy of the instruction definitions from one project to another.
TIP: If any of the definitions reference the same Add-On Instruction or User-Defined Type, there is only one shared copy in the project file. When coping an Add-On Instruction to another project, any definition referencing the target project is also copied.
