Actions page

Use the
Actions
page to:
  • Configure how an axis responds to fault types.
  • Modify actions for how an axis responds to fault types.
TIP: Some of the options for each of the actions, such as the options for the
    Disable (MSF) Stopping Action
control, may change depending on the axis configuration and information from the drive's profile.
TIP: Top open the Actions page:
  1. In the
    Controller Organizer
    , expand the
    Motion Groups
    folder, and double-click an axis.
  2. From the
    Axis Properties
    dialog box, in
    Categories
    , click
    Actions
    .
The parameters are separated into Standard Actions and Safety Actions.

Parameters
Opens the
Motion Axis Parameters
page to modify existing or additional parameters.
Tip:
The
Parameter List
page may contain more attributes than the associated page. In some cases, attributes that display on the
Parameter List
page do not display on the associated page.
Danger: Vertical Load is enabled. Changing Action attributes from the Current Decel & Disable setting could endanger personnel, machine, and property.
Displays warning when
Vertical Load Control
setting on the
General
page is set to
Enabled
.
Safety Actions parameters
Parameter
Description
Safe Torque Off Action
Determines the stopping method to apply to the motor when the drive detects a Safe Torque Off (STO) Active condition that was not initiated by a Safe Stop 1 (SS1) Active condition, and
Safe Torque Off Action Source
is set to
Connected Drive
.
The available options include:
  • Disable & Coast
  • Current Decel & Disable
  • Ramped Decel & Disable
  • DC Injection Brake
  • AC Injection Brake
Safe Torque Off Action Source
Specifies whether the drive or the controller initiates the stopping sequence in response to a Safe Torque Off Active condition.
The available options include:
  • Connected Drive
    - the drive initiates the stopping sequence according to the Safety Torque Off Action selection
  • Running Controller
    - requires the user program to execute the stopping action
Safe Stopping Action
Specifies the stopping method that the drive is to apply to the motor. The available options include:
  • Current Decel
  • Ramped Decel
Safe Stopping Action Source
Specifies whether the drive or the controller initiates the stopping sequence in response to a Safe Stop Active condition.
The available options include:
  • Connected Drive
    - the drive initiates the stopping sequence according to the Safety Torque Off Action selection
  • Running Controller
    -
requires the user program to execute the stopping action
Danger: Selection of Running Controller requires the user program to execute stopping action.
This warning displays when
Safe Stopping Action Source
or
Safe Torque Off Action Source
is set to
Running Controller
.
