License required to save changes to a License-protected component

To save changes to a component that is protected with License Source Protection, insert a

CmStick

containing the required license into the computer running the

Logix Designer

application.

Make sure to save changes to a project before removing the

CmStick

containing the required license. If the license is not present or the license is expired, the Cancel/Retry
dialog box displays a request to restore the CmStick and select Retry
, or select Cancel
to close Logix Designer application.

IMPORTANT:

Leaving the Cancel/Retry
dialog box open for a long period of time causes Windows to display the Component of the Logix Designer Application has stopped working
dialog box. In this event, close the Logix Designer application which results in loss of any unsaved changes.
