application screen. The window contains tabs for all open routines, a view for each routine, and the sequential function chart editor toolbar. The routine window components are:
Component | Description |
---|---|
Sequential Function Chart Editor Title Bar | The title bar displays the scope of the routine, followed by the routine name. Depending on the state of the routine, an additional character may appear in its title. For instance, a * indicates that the routine was modified (that is, it is "dirty"). |
Sequential Function Chart Editor Toolbar | The toolbar displays Sequential Function Chart editor functions such as Show Routine Overview, Auto-Scroll, and Layout Selected SFC Elements. This toolbar also contains the online edit commands for switching between the Original, Pending Edits, and Test Edits views. |
Routine Tabs | The routine window contains a tab representing each open routine. Each tab is labeled with the name of the routine with which it is associated. If there are a large number of routines open, the names are shortened. Position the cursor over a tab to see a tooltip with the full name of the routine. To cycle through the tabs, press Ctrl + Page U. To cycle through tabs in the reverse direction press Ctrl + Page Down. Click the right mouse button on a tab to display a context-sensitive popup menu that lists operations to perform on the specified routine. The Sequential Function Chart editor also displays the Paused indicator on the sequential function chart routine tab when the routine is paused (via the SFP instruction). |
Routine View | The Routine View is the area inside the Sequential Function Chart Editor window that shows the sequential function chart routine. Each routine view can contain two view panes of the routine, an upper pane and a lower pane. The height of these panes is adjustable. Each routine view and pane contains their own caret, scroll positions, and zoom capability. |
Routine Splitter | When a routine is initially displayed, its upper pane is not shown. Use the splitter bar to split the routine view in half, showing two separate panes of the same view. Drag the splitter bar up or down to move the bar, or choose Split from the Window menu. To position the splitter bar, drag the splitter bar up or down, or select the Split option from the Window menu. If using the splitter to close the active pane, all editing operations in the Sequential Function Chart Editor appear dimmed |
Routine Scroll Bars | The routine window contains scroll bars. Use the arrow keys, the Page Up/Page Down keys, or the mouse to scroll up, down, and left or right. The Logix Designer application supports the use of the Microsoft Intelli-Mouse. Rotate the mouse wheel to scroll the routine window up or down. Hold down the Shift key and rotate the mouse wheel to scroll the window left or right. |
Status Bar | The status bar panes of the Logix Designer application window display specific information while the Sequential Function Chart editor is open. |
TIP:
When testing or untesting edits, some edits may require an SFC reset and a reset to stored actions while other edits may not. When making an online edit to an SFC routine that requires a reset, a Reset icon and an SFC Reset Warning message popup appear in the SFC Editor Routine Window. Use the SFC Reset Warning message to navigate to the Reset Element Browser dialog and review the edited steps that require an SFC reset.
