About the Online Bar
The Online Bar displays project and controller information, including controller status, force status, online edit status, redundancy status, and safety status. The Online Bar consists of the following:
- Status buttons - Click the status button to show the status information in the online bar.
- Status icons - The status icons are to the right of the status button and provide additional status information.
- Status menus - The status menu is to the right of the status icon and contains commands to perform additional project and controller functions related to the selected status button.
- Status data area - Displays data related to the selected status button. The data is textual, graphical, or status-related shortcuts to frequently used and convenient functions, such as opening theController Propertiesdialog box.
The Online Bar provides the following status information:
- Controller statusTheController Statusbutton indicates whether the controller is online or offline. When the button is selected, the online bar shows the controller's mode (for example, RUN) and its status. The I/O indicator combines the status of standard and Safety I/O and behaves like the status indicator on the controller. The I/O with the most significant error status is displayed next to the status indicator. TheEnergy Storageicon orUPSicon is displayed depending on which backup energy device the controller uses to save the project upon loss of AC power.
- Forces statusTheForces Statusbutton indicates Forces or No Forces. When the button is selected, the online bar shows whether I/O or SFC forces is enabled or disabled and installed or not installed. TheForcesStatusmenu contains commands to remove, enable, or disable all forces.
- Online Edit statusTheOnline Edit Statusbutton indicates whether edits or no edits exist in the online ladder routine or function block diagram. When the button is selected, the online bar shows the edit state of the controller. If edits are made by another user, this area also shows a textual description of the edits.
- Redundancy statusTheRedundancy Statusbutton indicates whether redundancy is online or offline, and enabled. If the controller is online and redundancy is enabled, the button is Primary or Secondary. If the controller is offline and redundancy is enabled, the button is Redundancy. If redundancy is disabled, the button is disabled, and if the controller does not support redundancy, the button is blank. When the button is selected, the online bar shows the redundancy state of the chassis, the chassis ID, and module redundancy state.TIP: When both safety and redundancy are turned on at the same time, the safety status appears at the bottom of the window.
- Safety statusTheSafety Statusbutton indicates whether the controller is safety-locked or -unlocked, Safety Level SIL3/PLe with safety partner or Safety Level SIL2/PLd without safety partner, or faulted. The icon also shows the safety status. Icons are green when the controller is safety-locked, yellow when the controller is safety-unlocked, and red when the controller is safety fault.If a Safety signature exists, click theSafety Statusbutton to show the Safety signature. The Safety signature consists of an ID, Date, and Time. Compact GuardLogix 5380 and GuardLogix 5580 controllers have a 32-byte ID. Only the first 4 bytes of the ID display on the Online Bar. Click to view and copy the entire 32 byte ID.TIP: When both safety and redundancy are turned on at the same time, the safety status appears at the bottom of the window.
