Rate Alarm
When:
- One of the ramping features is configured and
- The situation it applies to arises and
- The controller tells themodule to change the output signal, controllerA device that controls machines or processes elements (for example, a programmable controller or relay panel).moduleA device, typically an I/O device, that communicates with the controller. The controller, a particular 1756-IB16I or a PanelView are all considered modules.
The module computes whether it could ramp to that new signal value in 35 milliseconds.
If the step is: | Then the module: |
Less than or equal to 35 milliseconds | Makes the step |
Will take more than 35 milliseconds at the ramp rate | The module makes 35 milliseconds worth of the change and turns on the Ramp Alarm member to indicate that it is ramping. The ramping then continues in 35 millisecond steps until the output signal reaches the value that the controller commanded. When the ramp reaches the target value, the alarm data type is reset unless Latch Rate Alarm is also configured. |
