Use drag-and-drop to copy in Controller Organizer

You can use drag-and-drop functionality in the Controller Organizer to copy (duplicate) items.
These items do not allow drag-and-drop:
  • Controller Tags
  • Program Parameters and Local Tags
  • All plain folders (for example the Tasks or Motion Groups)
  • Predefined data types
  • Module-Defined data types
  • Add-On-Defined data types
  • The backplane under the I/O configuration
  • The Logical Organizer link
The table shows which items you can drag to which targets.

Use the
Logical Organizer
to create a logical model that is organized in terms of procedures, objects, functions, equipment, or other more natural terms and concepts. You can then use drag-and-drop to apply this logical model to the
Controller Organizer
.
TIP: If FactoryTalk Security is enabled, FactoryTalk Security permissions are required to create and delete items in the
Controller Organizer
and the
Logical Organizer
.
