Configure Changes to Detect dialog box

An
Audit Value
is used to indicate changes have occurred within the controller. The
Audit Value
is a unique value that is generated when a project is downloaded to the controller or loaded from removable storage. This value is updated when an event occurs. Some events will always cause an
Audit Value
change, while others are selectable based on the settings of the Detection Specification. The
Audit Value
always changes on events such as a project download, but an event such as controller mode changes, can be configured to be ignored.
TIP:
Change detection is unavailable on the
Studio 5000 Logix Emulate
.
This dialog box lists the events that occur in the controller to monitor or ignore. When a monitored event occurs, the
Audit Value
updates and the new value is displayed in the
Controller Properties
dialog box on the
Security
tab.
TIP: To open the Configure Changes to Detect dialog box:
  1. On the
    Online
    toolbar, select the
    Controller Properties
    icon.
  2. On the
    Controller Properties
    dialog box, select the
    Security
    tab.
  3. In the
    Change Detection
    area, select
    Configure
    .
TIP:
To program

Changes to Detect List
Select the check box for any event in the list to monitor. Clear the check box for any event in the list to not monitor. By default, all items in the list are selected.
TIP:
Some events in the
Changes to Detect
list are not intuitive and might result in unexpected behavior. For example, the
Correlation affected
event detects when components are created, deleted, or modified, or when logic is modified. Clearing the check box for other events (such as,
Online edits modified controller program
), while having the
Correlation affected
event enabled, causes the
Audit Value
to change when such an event is detected. For a detailed information see:
Controller Logging
, in the
Logix 5000
Controllers Information and Status Programming Manual
, publication number 1756-PM0115
