Controller Properties dialog box - Capacity tab settings for 5x70 controllers

The
Capacity
tab of the
Controller Properties
dialog box for the
CompactLogix
5370,
ControlLogix
5570,
Compact GuardLogix
5370, and
GuardLogix
5570 controllers
includes the following parameters. The graphs show the memory total with either green, yellow or red indicating if enough memory is remaining for processor background tasks that require additional memory to operate properly.
Settings that do not apply to the controller are hidden.
The ability to change the settings on this tab can be controlled by
FactoryTalk Security
permissions.
TIP:
When online with the controller, the settings show the actual memory used by the controller. The
Max Used
setting shows the peak memory usage as communication occurs.
Parameter
Description
Memory Option
Specifies the controller to use in the estimate. This is available only for controllers with different memory size options.
Estimated I/O Memory
Displays the total memory bytes available, the number of unused bytes, and the number of used bytes for storing I/O. Also displays the largest free contiguous block of memory.
Estimated Safety Memory
Displays the total memory bytes available, the number of unused bytes, and the number of used bytes for storing Safety components. Also displays the largest free contiguous block of memory.
This is available only for Safety controllers.
Estimated Data and Logic Memory
Displays the total memory bytes available, the number of unused bytes, and the number of used bytes for storing data and logic. Also displays the largest free contiguous block of memory.
Reset All Max
Resets the
Max Used
values.
Estimate
Re-estimates the amount of controller memory required for the project.
Ethernet Nodes
Shows information about the Ethernet nodes connected to the controller.
  • Maximum
    - Number of Ethernet nodes supported by the controller
  • Used -
Current number Ethernet nodes in the I/O Configuration tree
If the controller is offline, L5k_node exceed limit icon appears next to the
Used
parameter when the node count exceeds the limit.
