Controller Properties dialog box - Internet Protocol tab settings
The settings on the
Internet Protocol
tab of the Controller Properties
dialog box determine if the IP settings are obtained automatically from a server on the network using DHCP or manually configured. The parameters are only configurable when the controller is online. Settings that do not apply to the controller are hidden, and the IP settings and IP address are unavailable if the safety application is in a safety secured state.
The ability to change the settings on this tab can be controlled by
FactoryTalk Security
permissions.
TIP:
When controllers that support one or more configurable Ethernet port pairs are configured for Dual IP:
- The IP Address and Subnet Mask for each Ethernet port must define a range of IP addresses that do not overlap.
- ForCompactLogix5380 controllers, Domain Name, Primary DNS Server, and Secondary DNS Server settings for A1 Ethernet port are used for all Ethernet ports.
- ForCompactLogix5480 controllers, Domain Name, Primary DNS Server, and Secondary DNS Server settings for B1 Ethernet port are used for all Ethernet ports.
