PNPOS time settings

Use the
Advanced > Time configuration
tab on the
PNPOS Properties
dialog box to configure time parameters for Process n-Position Device (PNPOS) instructions.
To configure time settings for PNPOS instructions
  1. On the instruction in the routine, perform one of these actions:
    • On the Ladder or FBD instruction, select .
    • In the Structured Text editor, right-click the tag name and select
      Configure <tag name>
      .
  2. Enter values for the amount of time, in seconds, to delay feedback for each of the feedback types for loopback tests or for when the device feedback is not used:
    • Time to reach target position
    • Time to lock or unlock
    • Time to index cylinder
  3. Enter values for these settings:
    • Time to get lock feedback before fault
      . Number of seconds to allow for device lock or unlock feedback after a lock or unlock command. If the feedback is not received within this number of seconds, a Lock Failure status is triggered.
    • Time to get position feedback before fault
      . Number of seconds to allow for device position feedback after a position command. If the feedback is not received within this number of seconds, a Position Failure status is triggered.
    • Delay before extending cylinder to engage for move
      . Number of seconds to delay before extending the cylinder to engage for a move.
    • Delay to verify device has settled in commanded position
      . Number of seconds to delay verifying that the device has settled in the commanded position.
    • Number of retries via Position 1 before declaring failure (0=don't retry)
      . Enter the number of retries before the move is considered a failure.
    • Time to sound audible on commanded energize (0=disabled)
      . Enter the number of seconds to sound an audible notification when the device is energized.
