PDI parameter values

Use the
Parameters
tab of the
PDI Properties
dialog box to monitor and modify values of parameters from the Process Discrete Input (PDI) instruction.
To monitor and modify parameter values for PDI instructions
  1. On the instruction in the routine, perform one of these actions:
    • On the Ladder or FBD instruction, select .
    • In the Structured Text editor, right-click the tag name and select
      Configure <tag name>
      .
  2. Open the
    Tag
    tab.
  3. Set the parameters:
    • Vis.
Select check boxes in this column to determine which parameters are visible on the function block. If the parameter is wired to another parameter, the check box is selected, and cannot be cleared because the parameter must be visible on the block.
    • Value
. Displays the current value of the parameter. Values in this column are displayed according to the display style of the block tag’s data type. If the parameter is wired to, the value column is read-only, and the value cannot change.
    • Insert instruction defaults
      . Resets the
      Vis
      and
      Value
columns to the user-stored default values. Use this button to insert instruction defaults saved in the registry to this instance of the tag. This button is only enabled when the instruction defaults are available in the registry.
    • Insert factory defaults
      . Resets the
      Vis
      and
      Value
columns to factory default values. Use this button to insert factory defaults (initial values) to this instance of the tag.
    • Save instruction defaults
. Use this button to save current values in the
      Parameters
      tab to the registry.
    • Sort parameters
. When this check box is selected, parameters are ordered alphabetically by name. When this check box is not selected, parameter order is given by the default with inputs followed by outputs.
  4. View the read-only parameters:
    • Input/Output Row Header
. An I at the start of a row indicates an input parameter; an O indicates an output parameter.
    • Name
. The name of the parameter.
    • Type
. The data type for the parameter.
    • Description
. The description of the parameter.
    • Device state
      . When the
      Logix Designer
application is online with the controller, the indicator displays the current device state, such as Off, Pulse on, or Out of service.
    • Device issues
      . When the
      Logix Designer
application is online with the controller, the indicator displays fault conditions, such as Feedback fault or I/O fault.
  5. Select
    Apply
    .
