PVLV device feedback

Use the
Device feedback
tab on the
PVLV Properties
dialog box to configure the feedback that the Process Valve (PVLV) instruction provides and uses.
To configure device feedback for PVLV instructions
  1. On the instruction in the routine, perform one of these actions:
    • On the Ladder or FBD instruction, select .
    • In the Structured Text editor, right-click the tag name and select
      Configure <tag name>
      .
  2. Under the
    Advanced
    tab, select
    Device feedback
    .
  3. Configure these settings. Use the
    HMI > Command configuration
    tab to define labels for positions 1 and 2.
    • Device provides
      . Select the
      Position 1
      and
      Position 2
      checkboxes to indicate that the connected valve provides a feedback status signal for those positions, and that the signal is wired and can be processed in the instruction.
    • Device uses
      . Select the
      Position 1
      and
      Position 2
      checkboxes to indicate that the instruction should use the feedback inputs to determine the actual position of the valve. Clear the checkboxes to indicate that the feedback inputs should be bypassed and the valve position assumed.
    • Fault when both feedback inputs are
      . Select
      On
      to configure the instruction to report a fault when both feedback inputs are on. Select
      Off
      to configure the instruction to report a fault when both feedback inputs are off.
  4. When online with the controller, monitor the
    Device state
    and
    Device issues
    indicators at the bottom left of the dialog box:
    • Device state
      . Displays the current valve state, such as
      Pulse continuously
      or
      Out of service
      .
    • Device issues
      . Displays fault conditions, such as
      Feedback fault
      or
      Transit stall
      .
  5. Select
    Apply
    .
