Competition promotes mining innovations that improve mine safety, sustainability and productivity
MILWAUKEE — Today’s miners are looking for new, safer ways to extract precious minerals and be more competitive. In support of this mission, Rockwell Automation is sponsoring the 2019 #DisruptMining competition in Toronto on March 3.
Presented by Newmont Goldcorp, #DisruptMining hosts an innovation competition inspired by the TV show “Shark Tank” to explore better ways to mine. The event showcases ideas and innovations to improve productivity, safety, energy management and the ease of mineral extraction in mining.
“Rockwell Automation works every day to explore what’s possible by combining the imaginations of people with the potential of machines,” said Paul McRoberts, North American industry manager at Rockwell Automation. “This event is grounded in a similar idea. It brings creative thinking to the forefront and encourages a dialogue around solving industry challenges and sets the stage for what’s yet to come. We’re excited to partner with Newmont Goldcorp, a company that supports and promotes innovation in mining.”
Rockwell Automation uses the latest technologies and services to improve mining process. The company’s solutions help miners create a connected mine, a smarter approach to production that can improve decision making, safety and productivity.
