PID Configuration Dialog Box - Status Section Overview

This section of the PID Configuration dialog box provides you with status information.
Parameters
Setpoint (SP)
Displays the current setpoint.
Process Variable
Displays the current PV value.
Error
The difference between PV (Process Variable) and SP (Setpoint). If the control action is direct, then this parameter is PV - SP. If the reverse is true, this parameter is SP – PV.
Output
Displays the current output percent value.
Tieback
Displays the current tieback value.
Mode
Indicates Manual, Auto, or Software Manual mode.
PV Alarm
Indicates the PV alarm state if the following is in existence.
  • The PV High bit is set to 1, then HIGH is displayed.
  • The PV Low bit is set to 1, then LOW is displayed.
  • Neither bit is set to 1, then NONE is displayed.
Deviation Alarm
Indicates the Deviation alarm state if the following is in existence.
  • The Deviation Alarm High bit is set to 1, then HIGH is displayed.
  • The Deviation Alarm Low bit is set to 1, then LOW is displayed.
  • Neither bit is set to 1, then NONE is displayed.
Output Limiting
If bit 12 of the Control Block is set to 1, then LOW is displayed; otherwise NONE is displayed.
Error Within Deadband
If bit 11 of the Control Block is set to 1, then YES is displayed; otherwise NO is displayed.
Setpoint Out of Range
If bit 14 of the Control Block is set to 1, then YES is displayed; otherwise NO is displayed.
PID Initialized
Checked if the PID message is initialized.
