Getting Started
FactoryTalk® Twin Studio™ is an end-to-end automation design solution where you can design, program, simulate, emulate and virtually commission in one cloud environment. This cloud-hosted ecosystem enables you to work within and move seamlessly between Rockwell's software products and is accessible from anywhere using a web browser. These products include:
- Arena® - Allows you to model and simulate complex business operations.
- Studio 5000 Logix Designer® - Access and edit new or existing Studio 5000 files from anywhere.
- FactoryTalk® Logix Echo - Collaboratively test and troubleshoot emulated code without target hardware in real time.
- Emulate3D™ - Build models that interact with controls from your browser that will scale to more complex equipment.
When you select FactoryTalk Twin Studio from FactoryTalk Hub you are presented with the Quick Access Applications available to your instance of Twin Studio , and options for working with projects. Either uploading files from your computer or interacting with FactoryTalk Vault. When you launch a project a Top Menu tool bar appears at the top of the screen. You can move quickly from software to software, accelerating the movement of the project through the design process. As your project grows, built-in change tracking and versioning automatically tracks who did what and when.
Projects are synced to FactoryTalk Vault to ensure that everyone is always using the latest version of the project. You can open project files from FactoryTalk Vault into Twin Studio as well as sync changes back to Vault for version control. Previous versions of project files can be opened at any time, for example, if the latest version of a project is not working as expected you can return to an earlier version.
