Data type editor

Use the
Data Type Editor
 to create user-defined data types. A user-defined data type groups different types of data, called members, into a single structure. Define the members and assign each member a name to describe the data it holds. Access a member by referencing the tag name member.
Online editing is allowed for member names of user-defined data types on
Compact GuardLogix
 5380,
CompactLogix
 5480,
ControlLogix
 5580, and
GuardLogix
 5580 controllers
Editing member names online is disabled when using the:
  1. Member in an Add-On Instruction sealed with a signature.
  2. Data type on a safety tag and the controller is in the Safety Secured state.
