Enable CIP Sync on the controller
Enable CIP Sync on the controller to provide a standard mechanism to synchronize clocks across a network of distributed devices.
TIP:
CIP Sync is only supported on Ethernet I/P and on the
ControlLogix
backplane.To enable CIP Sync on the controller:
- In theController Organizer, right-click the controller and chooseProperties. TheController Propertiesdialog box opens.
- Select theDate/Timetab.
- SelectEnable Time Synchronizationand selectApply.
- Use the Status Indicators at the bottom of the dialog box to view the current state of time synchronization.
- SelectAdvanceto open theController Properties - Advanced Time Syncdialog box and view information about real-time clocks or to override the default clock priorities.
