Enable CIP Sync on the controller

Enable CIP Sync on the controller to provide a standard mechanism to synchronize clocks across a network of distributed devices.
TIP:
CIP Sync is only supported on Ethernet I/P and on the
ControlLogix
 backplane.
To enable CIP Sync on the controller:
  1. In the
    Controller Organizer
    , right-click the controller and choose
    Properties
    . The
    Controller Properties
     dialog box opens.
  2. Select the
    Date/Time
     tab.
  3. Select
    Enable Time Synchronization
     and select
    Apply
    .
  4. Use the Status Indicators at the bottom of the dialog box to view the current state of time synchronization.
  5. Select
    Advance
     to open the
    Controller Properties - Advanced Time Sync
     dialog box and view information about real-time clocks or to override the default clock priorities.
