Configure PAH and monitor HART
Use the
Advanced
tab on the PAH Properties
dialog box to configure Process Analog HART (PAH) instructions and monitor HART diagnostics. To configure PAH instructions and monitor HART diagnostics
- On the instruction in the routine, perform one of these actions:
- On the Ladder or FBD instruction, select .
- In the Structured Text editor, right-click the tag name and selectConfigure <tag name>.
- Configure these settings:
- HART inputs. Select or clear the checkbox for each input to inform the HMI faceplate that the connected device provides or does not provide PV, ST, TV, and QV inputs. These checkboxes only affect the visibility of these variables on the HMI faceplate.
- Use HART digital variables' status information. Select or clear the check box to configure the instruction to use the HART communication status to generate information on the source and quality of HART variables.
- Monitor these settings:
- Scaling limits. Monitor scaling limit values from the HART device. Use theHMItab to configure the labels for unit values.
- PV units,MaxandMin. Displays the scaled range of the analog PV from the device in PV engineering units.
- Raw units,MaxandMin. Displays the corresponding range of the analog signal as provided or used by the HART analog I/O card; for example, 4.0 to 20.0 mADC, or 0.0 to 100.0 percent.
- HART diagnostics. Displays diagnostic status icons, codes, and messages from the HART device.
- When online with the controller, monitor theDevice stateandDevice issuesindicators at the bottom left of the dialog box:
- Device state. Displays the current device state, such asLive,Diagnostic information, orMaintenance required.
