Configure a continuous task

Type

, choose the task type for the task.

Configure only one task as continuous.

In

Watchdog

, enter the value (in ms) for the watchdog timer.

If a watchdog timer expires, a Major Controller Fault is generated.

To prevent the external output modules from being updated to the controller's data table values at the end of the task scan, select the

Disable Automatic Output Processing to Reduce Task Overhead

check box.

This check box does not appear for Safety tasks.

To prevent the controller from executing this task, select the

Inhibit Task

check box.

If selecting this box, the task is still prescanned. If the task is then enabled when the controller is already in Run mode, the task is not prescanned again.

This check box does not appear for Safety tasks.

Select

Synchronize Redundancy Data after Execution

. By default, this option is turned on. When it is turned off for the parent task, the program setting is ignored.

This check box does not appear for Safety tasks.

Click

OK

to close the

Task Properties

dialog box and apply your changes.
