Add multiple devices

FactoryTalk Design Studio provides the ability to add multiple devices in a single operation.
To add multiple devices
:
  1. On the explorer bar, select Devices Icon
    Devices
    .
  2. In
    Devices
     explorer, select Hamburger Menu
    Hamburger Menu
    , then select Add device icon
    New device
    . The
    Add device to project
     dialog box opens.
    TIP: To add a device to a specific Backplane or Ethernet Bus, right-click the Backplane or Ethernet Bus, then select Add device icon
    Add device

    TIP: To add a device from the
    Device list
    , at the top of the
    Device list
    , select Add Device icon
    Add device
    .
  3. In
    Category filter
    , select each device category you want to add to the project.
  4. Select each catalog number that you want to add to the project. The devices you select will show in the
    Devices to add
     list on the right of the dialog box.
  5. In
    Category filter
    , select each device category you want to add to the project.
  6. (optional) In the
    Devices to add
     list, increase the number to add that quantity of each device to the project.
  7. Select
    Continue
    . The
    Add devices to project
     window opens. The selected devices are listed in the
    Pending to configure
     area.
  8. Configure each of the devices in the
    Pending to configure
     list. When all the required fields for each device are configured properly, the
    Finish
     button becomes enabled.
  9. Select
    Finish
     to add the devices to the project. Controllers are added as assigned. Devices other than controllers are added as unassigned.
