Ladder Editor
Use the Ladder Editor to edit ladder diagram routines. The Ladder Editor displays a tab for each open routine.
The Ladder Editor displays the elements in the ladder diagram logic routines:
- rungs
- branches
- instructions
- operands
The online and offline indicators tell you whether a routine is showing the online or offline view. Select an icon to display the online or offline view.
- Select the online icon
to display the online view.
- Select the offline icon
to display the offline view.
In the online view, a green rail appears at the top of the routine and the
at the top right lights up.
Online
chip 
When logic is executing, a green rail appears on the left and right sides of the rungs in the routine.
The online chip can also indicate a project mismatch or a disconnected state.
TIP:
In the online view, ladder logic is read-only and cannot be edited.
A caret on the Ladder Editor canvas indicates the working position in the routine. The caret only appears when the view is active. When a routine first opens, the caret appears in the rung selection region of the first rung.
TIP:
At the top of the Ladder Editor:
- ?indicates where to enter a parameter value for the instruction.
- ??indicates that the system was unable to supply a value for a parameter because the system was unable to attain the value from the Tag Editor.
