Save a Project File With a New Name

To save the project file to a different file using a new name:
TIP:
This does NOT change the name of the controller. To change the controller name, change the name on the General tab of the Controller Properties dialog.
  1. From
    Save
    , select the directory to save this project.
  2. In
    File name
    , enter the new name.
  3. From
    Save as type
    , select the file type.
    Choose from:
    • Logix Designer Project File (*.ACD, *.L5K, .L5X, *XML)
    • Logix Designer Import/Export File (*.L5K. .L5X, *XML)
  4. Select
    Save
     to export the specified file or to save the file with the new name.
    TIP:
    To create a backup copy of your project file, save to the hard drive. Copy the saved file to the DVD, using Windows Explorer or another file management tool.
    For best results, only work on the project files from the hard drive.

  • From the
    File
     menu, select
    Save As.
