Change the Lock state of a Safety application
Use the
Safety Lock/Unlock
dialog box to change the Lock state of the Safety application. The dialog box and the parameters vary, depending on the current state of the application (that is, if the application is currently locked, the dialog box appears as the Unlock
dialog box, and vice versa).To change the Lock state of a Safety application
- Open theSafety Lock/Unlockdialog box by doing one of these actions:
- SelectTools > Safety > Safety Lock/Unlock.
- On theOnlinetoolbar, select theController Propertiesicon. On theController Propertiesdialog box, select theSafetytab, and then selectSafety Lock/Unlock.
- Enter the password, if one is required, for the state to change. There is a separate password for the lock and unlock state.
- (optional) To change to the Locked state and to generate a new Safety signature, select theGenerate Safety Signaturecheck box. A Safety signature generates when selectLock.TheGenerate Safety Signaturecheck box is not available when the controller is offline.
- (optional) To change to the Unlocked state and to delete the existing Safety signature, select theDelete Safety Signaturecheck box. The Safety signature deletes when selectUnlock.TheDelete Safety Signaturecheck box is not available if there is no Safety signature, the controller is in Run mode, and Run Mode Protection has been enabled.
- SelectLockorUnlockto lock or unlock the application, respectively.
