Edit an SFC routine
Edit a Sequential Function Chart routine to change its behavior. If any edits require the SFC to reset to the initial step and reset any stored actions, an SFC Reset Warning message appears. Not all SFC routine edits require a chart reset.
To edit an SFC routine:
- From theController OrganizerorLogical Organizer, open the SFC Routine to edit.
- Make the desired edits in the routine. Once online edits for the routine are made, a Reset icon appears on the routine's tab.
- When editing an SFC Routine that requires the SFC to reset to the initial step and reset any stored actions, a Reset icon appears in the SFC Routine Editor window. The SFC Reset Warning message appears as a popup at the bottom of the window with this icon:Pending edits.This icon appears in a popup and as a watermark on the SFC Editor window when edits were made, but not yet accepted, and the edits require the routine to reset to its initial step and reset any stored actions. The SFC Reset Warning message appears until the edits are assembled or finalized. Reposition or close the popup at any time.
- To show the details of an edit requiring an SFC reset, click theDetailslink in the SFC Warning Message. This displays the Reset Element Browser dialog box. (If the SFC Reset Warning message does not appear, click the SFC Reset Warning icon in the status pane.) Review the edits that require a reset in the Reset Element Browser dialog box before accepting the changes. Click a link to display the actual element and its changes. To refresh the list to show new edits that cause an SFC reset, clickRefresh. To close the Reset Element Browser dialog box, selectClose.
- To accept edits, including those that require an SFC reset, select theAccept Pending Program Editsicon in the toolbar at the top of the SFC Routine Editor window. The SFC Reset Warning message at the bottom of the window changes to contain this icon:Test edits.This default icon appears in the SFC Reset Warning message and as a watermark in the SFC Routine Editor window when the edits requiring the routine to reset to its initial step and reset any stored actions are accepted. Test edits are verified and placed in the controller.
- To test accepted edits, click theTest Accepted Program Editsicon in the toolbar. The Test Edits dialog box appears. This dialog box lists all routines in the program that contain edits. A Reset icon appears next to any routine edit that requires the SFC routine to be reset to its initial step and any stored actions to be reset.
- To test the displayed program edits, selectYes. To not test the edits, selectNo.
- To assemble or finalize your edits, selectAssemble Accepted Program EditsorFinalize All Edits in Programin the toolbar. The SFC Reset Warning message disappears.
