Project has changed and contains unlocked components

The project has unsaved changes and contains license-protected components that are not locked. When a routine or an Add-On Instruction is protected by License Source Protection, lock the routine or Add-On Instruction to share it outside a trust boundary. Examples are emailing using the internet or sending to an end customer. Unlocked components are less secure than locked components. Do not distribute projects that contain unlocked components.
NOTE: When you are offline with the controller, locking the unlocked components prevents correlation of the project when you next go online, and you will need to reload the project to the controller. If you need to avoid the time required to reload, consider selecting
Don't save
.
Select an option:
  • Click
    Lock and Save
to lock all license-protected components, save the project, and close it.
The Logix Designer application attempts to lock all unlocked license-protected components. If any components fail to lock, the project remains open. The project is saved in either case.
  • Click
    Save
to save and close the project without locking any unlocked license-protected components.
  • Click
    Don't Save
to close the project without locking the components and without saving it.
  • Click
    Cancel
    to cancel closing the project.
