Configure version control

Version control is required to version projects that you create. Each project uses version control by default.
If you already use version control on your computer, version control is automatically configured in
FactoryTalk Optix Studio
. If you are not already using version control on your computer, configure version control in
FactoryTalk Optix Studio
.
  1. In the title bar, select
    FactoryTalk Optix Studio Options
    .
  2. Select
    Version control
    .
    TIP: In order to use version control, FactoryTalk Optix project names and repository names must match. The project and repository names must contain only alpha numeric characters, numerals, periods, dashes, and underscores.
  3. Under
    Version Control User Configuration
    , in
    User Name
    , type your username.
    TIP:
    User Name
    is the name that appears next to commits when you open
    View history
    for a project. View history also identifies your commits with an avatar that uses the first letter of your name.
  4. In
    User Email
    , type your email address.
  5. Select
    Save
    .
