In recognition of the 51st anniversary of Earth Day, Rockwell Automation launched its first-ever Sustainability Report audiobook as a new tool to share the company’s sustainability efforts.
The audiobook includes the company’s commitments to meet its sustainability goals, which include committing to a carbon-neutral future within its own operations (Scopes 1 and 2) by 2030.
“We are actively working on our framework to achieve this goal and will prioritize energy efficiency and renewable energy investments,” said Majo Thurman, Director of Environment, Health & Safety for Rockwell Automation.
Last year, Rockwell partnered with ERM, a global provider of environmental, health, safety, risk, and sustainability work, to perform an extensive materiality assessment to update the company’s strategy. The study included input from customers, partners, employees, and investors. The materiality assessment results informed the company’s holistic strategy and pillars—environment, social and governance.
The company’s refreshed strategy includes:
- Achieving a carbon-neutral goal (Scopes 1 and 2) by 2030
- Incorporating climate risk into the company’s existing enterprise risk management processes
- Intentional enhancement of responsible supply chain
- Alignment of other programs into Rockwell’s broader strategies, including cybersecurity, product quality, and safety
Later this month, Rockwell will launch its first Global Reporting Initiative report, sharing more information about the company’s impact on issues such as climate change, human rights, and corruption.
