Manage graphic objects

Create, edit, move, and delete graphic object types and instances.

Object types and object instances

Any object that you create in the default
UI
folder or a subfolder of the
UI
folder is automatically configured as a type. See Create a graphic object type.
TIP: Types are available in
Type view
in the
UI
folder.
To add graphic objects to
FactoryTalk Optix Applications
, create object instances from object types. See Create a graphic object from a type.

Objects management

Use
Project view
and the editor to duplicate, rename, and edit the properties of graphic objects.

Objects interactivity

By editing graphic object properties, you can make the object movable or animate the object. For more information, see:

Objects protection

In
Project view
, lock graphic objects to prevent other
FactoryTalk Optix Studio
users from editing the object children at design time. You can set a password required to unlock the object as an additional layer of security.
