Configure 1756 Digital I/O Modules
You can use the default configuration supplied with your ControlLogix analog I/O modules, or you can use the
Logix Designer
software features to configure a module specific to your application. You can:
I/O (input/output)
Devices that provide and/or receive data from the controller.
- Accept default configuration for your module ormoduleA device, typically an I/O device, that communicates with the controller. The controller, a particular 1756-IB16I or a PanelView are all considered modules.
- Write point level configuration specific to your applicationapplicationA machine or process monitored and controlled by a controller or the use of computer-based or controller-based routines for specific purposes.
To configure a 1756 Digital I/O module
- Under theI/O Configurationfolder in the controller organizer, position the cursor on the module you want to configure, and right click the mouse button to selectProperties.
- Enter the configuration information. You may choose to use the default values for your module and channels rather than write configuration that is specific to your application.
- Select:
- OKto accept your edits and close the dialog.
- Cancelto delete your edits and close the dialog.
- Applyto make your edits effective and continue editing.

You can also configure a module when creating a module. Select the module for specific configuration information.
