Module Properties Dialog Box - Scan List Tab Overview (1756-DNB, 1788-DNBO)
Use this tab to enable/disable the AutoConfig feature of certain DeviceNet scanners, and to set the allocation size to be used.
TIP:
The AutoConfig feature is only active when the Scanner Mode is Idle and AutoConfig is Enabled.
Parameters
Scanner Mode
Displays the scanner mode of the module, when online. Valid values are IDLE and RUN. This field is blank when offline, or when there is a failure to connect to the module.
Enable AutoConfig
Select or clear this check box to enable or disable the AutoConfig feature. When selected, two SetAttributeSingle messages are sent to the module - one to set the I/O Allocation size, and the other to enable AutoConfig. When unchecked, a message is sent to the module to disable AutoConfig.
This check box is disabled when the Scanner Mode is IDLE.
I/O Allocation Size
Choose the size of the input and output memory maps that the scanner will allocate for each device it detects on the network. Valid values range from 0 to 32 bytes per node.
Nodes in Scan List
These nodes represent the devices the scanner has in its internal scan list.

Status
Displays the status the controller has about the module.
Status Name | Description |
Standby | a transient state that occurs when shutting down |
Faulted | unable to communicate with the module. When the status is Faulted, the Connection tab displays the fault. |
Validating | a transient state that occurs before connecting to the module |
Connecting | a state that occurs while the connection(s) are being established to the module |
Running | the module is communicating and everything is working as expected |
Shutting Down | the connections are closing |
Inhibited | the connection to the module is inhibited |
Waiting | a connection to this module has not yet been made due to one of the following: its parent has not yet made a connection to it its parent is inhibited its parent is faulted |
Offline | you are not online |
