Import Configuration Dialog Overview

Use the Import Configuration dialog box to configure how the content from an L5X file is imported into a controller project in the
Logix Designer
application.
The Import Configuration dialog box consists of the Import Content, Errors / Warnings pane, Details pane, status bar, and the Toolbar.
Import Content
The Import Content is the left portion of the dialog box and it displays the content of the import relative to the current controller project. When an item is selected in the Import Content, that item’s details display in the Details pane.
The Import Content represents the content of the import file that is applied to the project during the import operation. It also indicates where in the project the imported component is to be imported. Only the components specifically related to the import operation are shown, including the component being imported and the components it references. For example, if there are no tag references in the import content, then the References/Tags item is not shown.
Details Pane
The Details pane displays properties of the item selected in the Import Content. The properties may be of one item or they may be a list of components and their properties. This pane is used to make configuration changes, such as specific property changes to the import components before they are imported into the project.
Errors / Warnings
The Errors / Warning pane displays errors, status messages, and progress messages that occur during the import. Messages display in the order in which they were generated so that when there are errors or warnings, you have context as to where the import of the L5X file failed.

The Find control keeps a history of the ten most recent text search strings. This history is only remembered for the current import session.

Documentation Language

The status bar is located at the bottom of the dialog box. The status bar displays status messages associated with red-flagged items based on the current selection in the configuration dialog box. If there is no red-flagged message, then Ready is displayed.
The status bar also displays the results of Find/Replace operations.
