Configure imported Equipment Sequence properties

When an
Equipment Sequence
 is imported, the configuration properties on the Details pane of the
Import Configuration
 dialog box may require adjustment.
To adjust configuration properties for an imported
Equipment Sequence
:
  1. On the
    File
     menu, select
    Import Component > Equipment Sequence
    .
  2. In the
    Import Equipment Sequence
     dialog box, select the sequence to import.
  3. Select
    Open
    .
  4. In the
    Import Configuration
     dialog box, select the
    Operation
     setting for the import.
    The Operation setting chosen depends on whether the Import Name exists in the project.
    If the Import Name is used as a program name in the project, set
    Operation
     to
    Use Existing
     or
    Overwrite
    .
    If the Import Name is not used in the project, set
    Operation
     to
    Create
     or
    Discard
    .
    • Use Existing
      : Specifies that existing settings in the project are used, not the settings in the imported component.
    • Overwrite
      : Specifies that settings in the import file will overwrite the information in the project file, as long as overwriting is a permitted operation.
    • Create
      : Specifies that a new component is created in the project based on the information in the import file, as long as creation is a permitted operation.
    • Discard
      : Operation defaults to
      Discard
       when do not have adequate security privileges to import the file, or if the import file conflicts with the existing project. If the import file conflicts with the existing project, try changing the
      Final Name
       setting to continue the import. If the import does not complete, check security privileges.
  5. (optional) To change the name of the imported file, or if the imported file name conflicts with the existing project, type a
    Final Name
     for the imported file. By default, the
    Final Name
     is the name of the import file.
  6. (optional) When the
    Operation
     is set to
    Create
    , select the
    Properties
     button to view the basic settings for the imported
    Equipment Sequence
    .
  7. (optional) Select
    Collision Details
     to find differences between the imported file settings and the existing settings.
  8. (optional) In
    Description
    , type a description for the import file. If
    Operation
     is set to
    Use Existing
     or
    Discard
    , the
    Description
     box is not available.
  9. (optional) On the
    Schedule In
     menu, select a program location for the
    Equipment Sequence
    . To unschedule the
    Equipment Sequence
    , select
    Unscheduled
    . To schedule the
    Equipment Sequence
    , select a task.
  10. (optional) On the
    Parent
     menu, select a parent for the imported
    Equipment Sequence
    . Use the
    Parent
     setting to group programs hierarchically in the
    Logical Organizer
    .
  11. (optional) Select
    Inhibit Equipment Sequence
     to prevent the
    Equipment Sequence
     from being owned and commanded by another user or program after it is imported.
  12. (optional) Select
    Preserve existing tag values in offline project
     to prevent tag values in the project from being overwritten by an import the
    Equipment Sequence
     in offline mode. Note that tag values are never overwritten when importing an
    Equipment Sequence
     while online with the controller.
  13. Select
    OK
