Sequence links

Links connect the elements in an Equipment Sequence diagram.
You can link elements together in specific ways. If there is a port on the side you want to link with, use the port. If there is no port, try the bar.
  • Step bottom port to transition top port
  • Step bottom port to simultaneous divergence branch
  • Step top port to a transition bottom port
  • Step top port to a selective convergence port
  • Transition bottom port to step top port
  • Transition bottom port to simultaneous divergence port
  • Transition top port to a step bottom port
  • Transition top port to a selective divergence branch
  • Transition bottom port to a step top port
  • Transition bottom port to a simultaneous convergence port.
Element links
Links connect steps, transitions, and branching structures.
A link connects the bottom connector of an element to the top connector of a following element. A link may only be added between elements that are not already connected and in a valid structure.
The following example shows several links and element connectors.

Branch links
A sequence branch is a structure within an equipment sequence diagram that permits simultaneous or selective execution of steps.
A link can be from a port to a port or from a port to a branch, depending on the type of branch and type of sequence element. The following diagram shows examples of port to port or port to branch links.
