PAIM Source Quality settings
Use the
Source Quality
tab on the PAIM Properties dialog box to configure settings for evaluating the input source quality for Process Multi Sensor Analog Input (PAIM) instructions. To configure Source Quality settings for PAIM instructions
- On the instruction in the routine, perform one of these actions:
- On the Ladder or FBD instruction, select .
- In the Structured Text editor, right-click the tag name and selectConfigure <tag name>.
- Select theSource Qualitytab.
- Configure these settings:SettingDescriptionReject an input if its quality is uncertainSelect the checkbox to reject an input marked as having uncertain quality and accuracy.Reject inputs when they are: Outside of rejection region (must have three good inputs)Select the checkbox to reject inputs that are more than two standard deviations from the mean.Reject inputs when they are: Outside of mean +/-Select the checkbox and enter a value in the box to reject an input that deviates from the mean by more than the entered value. Value is in PV units.IMPORTANT:For theOutside of rejection regionselection to be meaningful, you must enter at least four inputs.Calculate output using: Median of good inputsSelect the checkbox to calculate the final Process Variable as the median of the good (non-rejected) Process Variable inputs.Calculate output using: Average of good inputsSelect the checkbox to calculate the final Process Variable as the average of the good (non-rejected) Process Variable inputs. If only two inputs are good, use their:
- Average
- Minimum
- Maximum
Select the checkboxes to use the input average, the lower of the inputs, or the higher of the inputs as the value of the PV.PV source and quality: Generate source and qualitySelect this option to have the instruction determine the input source and quality using the PV input, the PV Uncertain input, and the PVBad input.PV source and quality: Pass through connected channel's source and quality valueSelect this option to have the instruction determine the input source and quality using the PV input, the PV Uncertain input, and the PVBad input, plus the PV source and quality (SrcQ) input. - When online with the controller, monitor theDevice stateandDevice issuesindicators at the bottom left of the dialog box:
- Device state. Displays the current device status: PV good, PV uncertain, or PV bad.
- Device issues. Displays fault conditions: None, Any reject, Min good, Fail, or Configuration error.
- SelectApply.
