Create an Optix template
Create an Optix template that contains all default content for projects to be based
on the template. You can create an Optix template from an existing project.
- Add content that you want to appear as default content in any project to be created with the Optix template.
- From the toolbar, select the down arrow afterSaveand select .
- InSave project as, complete:
- Name. Enter the new name of the template.
- Save as type. SelectOptix Template (*.optixt).
- Location. The location for Optix templates is read-only.TIP: Optix templates are stored inC:\Users\UserName\Documents\RockwellAutomation\FactoryTalk Optix\ProjectTemplates. Templates names are prepended withFTOptix_template_.
- (optional)Use Version Control. Select to track changes made to the Optix template and store the template in a Git repository.
- (optional)Encrypt secrets. Select to encrypt sensitive data contained in the Optix template.
- SelectOK.To view the new Optix template, scroll to the right as necessary to see the Optix template. The unique user-defined template name appears on a tile at the top ofNew project.
