Edit a project template
To edit a project template, open the template and modify the content to appear by default in
projects created with the template.
- In the main toolbar, selectProject.The Start page opens.
- Open the template by selecting either:
- Recent template. Select Home or select Open and then select Recent to select the template to open.
- Remote template. Select Open and then select Remote to select the template to open, or enter aRemote URL and Location to select a remote template.
- Change the content in the Optix template.
- Save the Optix template with:
- The same name. From the toolbar, select
Save. - A different name:
- Name. Enter the name of the Optix template.
- Save as type. Select Optix Template (*.optixt).
- Location. The location for templates is read-only.NOTE: Optix templates are stored in C:\Users\Username\Documents\Rockwell Automation\FactoryTalk Optix\ProjectTemplates. Optix template names are prepended with FTOptix_template_.
- (optional)Use Version Control. Select to track changes made to the Optix template and store the template in a Git repository.
- (optional)Encrypt secrets. Select to encrypt sensitive data contained in the Optix template.
- SelectOK.
- The same name and committed to the repository. From the toolbar, selectSave>Save and Commit.
- To close the template, from the main toolbar, selectProject
, and then on the Start page, select
Close Project.
