Self-Test
The module is powering-up and performing diagnostics on hardware and firmware to ensure correct operation. Typically the module will not respond to communications during a self-test state, and this state will not be seen. The FLEX I/O ControlNet Adapters report this state when modules in the FLEX I/O backplane have been added or removed since power was applied.
module
A device, typically an I/O device, that communicates with the controller. The controller, a particular 1756-IB16I or a PanelView are all considered modules.
