Select a module

Use the
Select Modules
 dialog box to select modules for the project controller to import and own. The module selected in the tree view defines the associated CIP topology for that module in the project.
Before you begin:
  • Use the
    Select Project Controller
    dialog box to select a project controller.
To select a module:
  1. In the
    Select Modules
     dialog box, the Device Tree View shows the available devices, and the devices' possible CIP topologies, for the selected data exchange file. To include a device in the project, select that device in the desired location in the CIP topology. When selecting a device with possible child devices, the tree view automatically expands and all available children are selected.
    TIP:
    • Tip: If child devices are available in the CIP topology, a triangle shows to the left of the module.
    • A checkmark shows if the device and all the children are selected.
    • A black square shows if a device, but not all the children, is selected.
  2. In the expanded tree, clear devices to exclude them from the project.
  3. Select
    Finish
    to complete controller and module selection.
  4. Choose a file name and location and save the project to populate the project.
