Role-Based Access Control

Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) identifies the access permissions to capabilities based on roles.
Access to capabilities in FactoryTalk Design Studio is based on the user's role. The three roles are:
  • Guest
  • Engineer
  • Administrator
Access the User Management console from the Help menu on the top right of the user interface Help menu..
Either:
Select and then select
User Management
.
or
Select
Welcome
 and then
Open User Management
.
Refer to the table for a list of capabilities and the access permission based on the role.

IMPORTANT: FactoryTalk Hub administrator status is not shown in the
User Management
 view. It is possible to remove all
FactoryTalk Design Studio
 roles from FactoryTalk Hub administrator and apply changes, and FactoryTalk Hub administrators will still have
FactoryTalk Design Studio
 permissions without having the
FactoryTalk Design Studio
 administrator role.
