Configure PNPOS instructions

Use the
Advanced
tab of the
PNPOS Properties
dialog box to configure the selected Process n-Position Device (PNPOS) instructions.
To configure Process n-Position Device (PNPOS) instructions
  1. On the instruction in the routine, perform one of these actions:
    • On the Ladder or FBD instruction, select .
    • In the Structured Text editor, right-click the tag name and select
      Configure <tag name>
      .
  2. Open the
    Advanced
    tab.
  3. Set the parameters:
    • Shed triggers.
      Select the Shed trigger check boxes to configure the instruction to attempt to shed the device on the various conditions. Each condition sets a shed latch that requires a reset to clear before the device can be moved. Clear the check boxes to configure the various conditions to raise an alarm only. You cannot clear the Interlock trip condition. An Interlock Not OK condition always sheds the device.
    • Interlock action
      . Select the action to take on interlock: Hold the current state, or drive the device to position 1.
    • Audible on.
      Select whether to sound the audible signal only when the position changes from position 1, or to sound on any position change.
    • In Override, bypass interlocks and permissives that can be bypassed.
      Select to bypass the bypassable interlocks and permissives when the Override command source is selected. Clear this check box to bypass the bypassable interlocks and permissives only when maintenance bypasses them by command.
    • Operator command resets fault.
      Select to have a new operator command also issue a Reset to the instruction when a shed fault has been latched or a Device fault is active. Clear this check box to require a separate Reset command.
    • External command resets fault.
      Select to have a new external command also issue a Reset to the instruction when a shed fault has been latched or a Device fault is active. Clear this check box to require a separate Reset command.
    • Operator Position 1 command always available.
      Enable priority for an operator command to position 1, accepted at any time. If an operator commands the device to position 1 when a command source other than
      Operator
      or
      Maintenance
      is selected, a Reset is required to command the device. Clear this check box to make an operator command to position 1 available only when the command source is set to
      Operator
      or
      Maintenance
      .
    • External Position 1 command always available.
      Enable priority for an external command to position 1, accepted at any time. If an external command sets the device to position 1 when a command source other than External is selected, a Reset is required to command the device. Clear this check box to make an External command to position 1 available only when the command source is set to External.
